WELCOME TO HURLINGHAM MANOR NORTH
(our desirable gated community)

Your HMNA democratically elected committee continues to work towards ensuring the safety and security of every resident, service provider, school parent and visitor who frequents our specially tended to and cherished enclave.

We do this with a mandate from an overwhelming majority (90%+) of residents. We also do so whilst upholding our Constitutional Rights to living in a safe and secure environment as enshrined in the quoted relevant extract

36. Limitation of rights

.1). The rights in the Bill of Rights may be limited only in terms of law of general application to the extent that the limitation is reasonable and justifiable in an open and democratic society based on human dignity, equality and freedom, taking into account all relevant factors, including -

a). the nature of the right;
b). the importance of the purpose of the limitation;
c). the nature and extent of the limitation;
d). the relation between the limitation and it's purpose; and
e). less restrictive means to achieve the purpose.

Community goals achieved, involvement and feedback during 2009 - 2010:

.1. HMNA was launched on www.FaceBook.com;

.2. Purchasing a brush cutter reduced costs and frustration in keeping the servitude tidy and safe;

.3. Dr. Jeff Harrisburg donated plants and a park bench for the Woodlands Park;

.4. We held off the onslaught of verbal and written objections by the rat runners and a solitary resident:

...(a) 5 new speedhumps were added in Alto, Woodlands, Nederburg and Goedehoop;

...(b) Despite unfounded pressures we retained the push button boom at Pinotage Street;

...(c) Staved off the usage of the Goedehoop Crescent gate by the Saints World Cup Fan Park; and

...(d) Dudley Maddocks (13 Culemborg Crescent) failed to discredit the HMNA in a report to the Human Rights Commission of S.A. and we contended that in fact his past actions were an abuse of Human Rights;

 5. Success with C.O.J. Town Planning ensuring that the structures at 37 Culemborg were demolished;

 6. HMNA objected to B ’n B’s and a 10 room Guest house at Erf 473 - 39 Goedehoop Crescent;

Planned 2010 - 2011

 1. The request for compulsory billing of levy on municipal accounts is still outstanding;

 2. Number plate reader linked to 27 databases incl. SAPS – suspects ID’ed – entries greeted (3) below;

 3. LED scrolling displays @ entrances for community notification and linked to (2) above;

 4. Additional speedhump in Goedehoop planned within the next month;

 5. The addition of more park benches and City Park approved play equipment in TJ/Boschendal Park;

 6. A 2011 mid-year HMNA ‘Day in the Park’ with arts, crafts and services fair for residents/owners/sponsors;

 7. The introduction of a 2nd CSS vehicle – we appeal to all non-CSS members to join to enable this; and

 8. Recycling Awareness - making use of the bin provided at the Pinotage access point for disposable glass

Should you notice any untoward activities please use your discretion and immediately contact either your or your neighbours contracted security company which would be either - CSS Tactical Services 0861-911-119 or 083-885-2184, Top Security (011) 884-6660, ADT 086 121 2400 or the SAPS 10111 depending on who would be the most suitable to resolve the matter.

Please remember that committee members receive no remuneration whatsoever for their efforts, and unselfishly give of themselves away from their families, career pursuits or leisure to ensure that we as a community enjoy this special habitat.

Furthermore, all who are resident here benefit 100% from the lifestyle that is afforded here – yet only 75% contribute – the community has requested that the 'Proud Contributors’ are listed to encourage more households to join the HMNA at a daily rate of a little over just R7 per day!

“United WE stand divided we fall!”

Warmest Regards
Roberto Mela
HMNA Chairman
